I just noticed that everytime I try to put someone to be a frontrunner against KZ, they end up in the bottom two. Perhaps, it was a curse? LOL. I don't believe in supernatural things. It was pretty coincidental.
A.K.A. JAM and Daddy's Home are definitely not the weakest performers in the show. Both of them are groups of powerhouse vocals who can deliver harmony that sounds heavenly. Indeed, they were among the contestants who delivered outstanding performances last Saturday.
That is why, I cannot settle to the fact that they were both in the bottom two spots. Here's my take on their survival performances:
Daddy's Home - Maging Sino Ka Man by Rey Valera - It was the first time that I heard this song sang by a group and it was good. It was not as great as their previous performances because I noticed some unsure notes. Perhaps, it was because they were nervous and disappointed at the same time after learning that they were part of the bottom 2. Nevertheless, they surely know how to harmonize. Rating: A-
A.K.A. JAM - "Missing You" by Brandy, Tamia, Chaka Kahn And Gladys Knight - I loved every bit of their performance. The growl, the harmony, the ad libs and the high notes were superb! It was another defining moment for them. I surely love this group because they never fail to impress me. Rating: A+
It surely broke my heart after hearing the two groups with their last chance performances. They are way way better than some other contestants. They are the creme of the crop in Gary V's category. And it was very sad to know that one of them would be leaving.
I feel for Gary V. It was very hard to decide on his part because like what he had said, it was like choosing who among your children should be sent home. Based on the final performances, Daddy's Home should be sent home. But if I were on his shoes, I would do the same thing. I would make sure that there would be a deadlock. None of these groups should go home and the judges knew it for sure. The people had chosen them to be their bottom two, thus, let the people decide as well who should be eliminated.
Sadly, the people chose to eliminate A.K.A. JAM. I was upset. But if Daddy's Home was sent home instead, I would still be upset. The result is an upset. I am upset. Many people are upset. :(
The votes were really unpredictable. Not like other singing contests, this show does not usually have contestants who flirted with the bottom spot. So how did this happen? Was the show rigged? Let me share my insights on this.
I totally disagree that they were manipulated by ABS-CBN. Again, there is a third party tabulator, SGV and co., who verifies the text and online voting outcome. So how did the two groups ended up in the bottom two spot?
I think this is what usually happens: After one contestant paid a visit to the bottom two and survived the elimination, their fans make sure to vote their a**es off to save their idol. Just take a look at Joan Da and TakeOff. They never became part of the Bottom Two again.
As for Kedebon and Modesto, Pinoys have this love for the underdogs. Modesto is surely the dark horse to win this contest. Further, I am guessing that many are enjoying Kedebon's funny performances and personality. But I believe that these "many" will surely get tired of his tricks. I just hope they'd realize soon that there are more acts who deserve to stay.
I am excited to see A.K.A. JAM gracing Kapamilya shows. I am also hoping that ASAP will sign them in because they will be a great addition to the show. I will just hold Gary V accountable to his words, thus, I am expecting a bright future for these ladies.
How about you? I want to hear your thoughts on another shocking elimination. Feel free to comment below.

Disappointed too.. :( i thought it would be KZ Vs AKA JAM at the end..
ReplyDeletemy sentiments exactly...
Deleteyou nailed it, dear! i won't be surprised to see mang modesto vs. kedebon during the finals. nothing against these two guys but, c'mon! it's the x-factor we're talking about! geez!
Deletehappy kc d natanggal ang mga Daddy's...ilove them so much :)
ReplyDeletetatay mo ? hehehe
Deletewowwww..mahilig sa mashonda!!!
DeleteA.K.A jam was great. shocked ako na natanggal sila. kse ang basehan sa contest na to eh kung gano kaactive ang mga fans. kaya wag magalit. lalo na pag di full ang support sa pagboto ng idolo nyo. kse it will happen na naman. Gusto ko ring makita ang A.K.A jam sa top 3 sana! aside from my favorite( di ko na imention) pag natanggal sya magtatanong na lng ako kung sino nanano sa bandang huli :)
ReplyDeleteI think the show's being manipulated somehow,
ReplyDeleteand I also think that the next eliminated contestant will be on the Boys Category.
Well, just think of it. It will not be thrilling to watch and is bad for the judges if all the contestants in a group will be eliminated consecutively; so they have to eliminate one per category.
well, i'm wrong. the boys category is still intact. why? how? maybe because Martin is supporting them? financially? o.O
DeleteMy analysis of what happened is this: I'm really sure many people want AKA JAM to win. Because aside from them being too good, there are six of them which means six families, six friends, and six connections. However, their fans relied on others to vote for them and didn't exert the effort in voting within themselves because they were very confident that it was impossible for them to be placed in the bottom 2. Maybe, it's a lesson learned somehow. If we want a finalist to win, let's give our 100% support all the way. :-)
ReplyDeleteSO TRUE!!!!
DeleteMaybe the fans of akajam became so relaxed that's why they lost in votes
ReplyDeleteFYI. It's SGV and Co.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info! I have updated it already.
Deletei was also shock about the result.. i find some individual performance not deserving.. hope maibalik ang aka jam sa x factor. sana rin makita ng mga taong bumubuto kung sinu talaga ang deserving d lang kung sinu ang gusto nla..
ReplyDeleteYes it was a shocking elimination and AKA Jam should not the one to sent home..
ReplyDeleteLike what I said it looks like we will have a Sanjaya Malakar vs Taylor Hicks finale for X-Factor PH. :|
ReplyDeleteI think this is a wakeup call for those avid supporters, we can't just complain if our bet wasn't chosen. Question is... did we do our part as well? Did we vote for them?
ReplyDeleteYou nailed it! Exactly my opinion. I actually texted for both groups thinking that a lot would be complacent since they're really good!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Kedebon, naalala ko sa kanya yung JEDWARD TWINS na sumali sa X Factor UK noong 2009.. Di masyadong kagalingan at maraming may-ayaw. They entertain and stayed in the competition for a bit pero hndi sila nanalo kasi sa bandang huli pumili din ang mga tao ng karapat-dapat talaga.. Maybe thats what gonna happen too in X Factor Philippines.. haha.
ReplyDeleteIts the judges/abs fault! Mostly pilita nd martin, dapat cream of the crop n ang top 12..best among the best..so kung may matanggal man,di n nkakainis kc the best are fighting against each other..if they didnt include kedebon/modesto in the first place,E di sna hindi joke ang labanan..
ReplyDeleteexactly. maraming mas deserving sa kanila. Yung may artista factor talaga. Like Zendeerose hindi nakasali sa top 12,ngayon nakuha na ng channel 7 and is now a "viral diva". Nakakapanghinayang yung mga DAPAT nakapasok sa top 12.
DeleteThat night, it should have been Gary V's final voice. If only Gary V was brave enough and did not "PLAY SAFE" for his own image. A.K.A. JAM should have stayed. Gary V. washed his hands to keep his good image, without knowing that with his action, he just lost his credibility as a judge/mentor. Its too obvious during final showdown/deciding performance that A.K.A JAM excelled over Daddy's home.... DISAPPOINTED MUCH!!! There's nothing left to look forward in the show..
ReplyDeleteDaddy's Home also deserved top stay. They are really good, it's God's favor and will.. so why not accept it? If you were in Gary's place you would've done the same
DeleteI think kung sino yung mga mukang kawawa, yun ang papasok sa top 3. Maawain ang mga filipinos and because of that, hindi na napapansin ang talent ng contestants. Xfactor is a great show but xfactor phil? I dont know. Nagiging public service na lang ang mga contest na ganito sa pilipinas. Im sorry to say this but ernesto received a standing ovation, for what? Kedebon, can sing pero nothings special sa boses nya. Xfactor? No comment. Performance, sure ok pero baka pagn pilipinas got talent sya hndi xfactor. Now, let compare xfactor and xfactor phil, parangang layo. I am no longer watching xfactor phil, nagiging jologs na. Konti na lang pang masa na yung show. Nasan na ang world class filipino talents?
ReplyDeleteModesto hindi Ernesto, Magbibigay nalang ng bad comment mali pa ang name.. HIYANG HIYA NAMAN AKO SAYO NO!
DeleteLol. Thats what i am talking about. Di ko talaga sya kilala. I stand corrected. Thanks.
DeleteAlthough Modesto is old, let's all admit that he has a good voice though of course his pronunciation is not that good.
DeleteIm so disappointed! Im a big fan of AKA JAM, i SPEND A LOT IN TXT VOTEs, I dont believe that txt votes makes them at the bottom two, there's somebody who manipulate the counting or I should say nobodys perfect to tabulate the votes. IM HURT, but I know God has the best plans for AKA JAM thats why they are eliminated, all they need to do now is to stick together move on.GOD BLESS AKA JAM.
ReplyDeleteMaybe your votes weren't enough. Since there's only 30 votes per sim.
DeleteUnfortunately AKA JAM forgot to request support from a religious group. Check out the background of each of the contestants. Had I known I could have done that in our church and others I know. too late now so i never watch xfactor again
Deleteim agree what the people said in this comment!!!basta guy's we will support AKA JAM till the end no matter what happen we all know that they deserving to stay.my concern lang ako sana irevealed lahat ng votes in order to be fair with the televiewers.more power to your show and goodluck.
ReplyDeleteboycott na lang ang xfactor... ano pa papanoorin natin? artista academy na lang nga ang pinapanood ko eh..
DeleteNot too upset honestly. Yes, the Bottom 2 was appalling but I think Gary made the right choice. Based on Saturday's performance, AKA JAM's vocals were messy. Not surprised that they were eliminated.
ReplyDeleteSo much criticism and mixed results from this show so far. I think its because the show is still new among Filipino viewers. Hopefully, as the show progresses and gets more popular better decisions/results can be made.
you really think there will be a next xfactor? i doubt it. AND, do u really think that daddy's home nailed the tune? listen to them again. espcially the fat one wearing sun glasses at night. not everyone nailed the note. i am a music professor and i know the sound of each note!
DeleteI just want to say that you are exactly right. The fans of both Joan Da and Takeoff are making sure that they dont end up in the bottom tier. You are also correct in saying both Daddys Home and AKA JAM are 2 of the better acts in this show, Top 5 for sure.So my take/ flaws in this competition is it comes down to TEXT FACTOR. This is suppose to be a talent show not a personality contest. Its a shame that some dont see it that way. I also believe that wen a situation such as 2 groups coming out of the same category are in the bottom 2 that there mentor should be excluded from the judges decision. Give it to K.C. to make are just the other 3 judges. The 2 groups ended up in the bottom 2 their final fate should not be in the hands of texters, but in the hands of the professionals. AKA JAM was clearly better in the singoff, but poor Gary V. was caught between a rock and a hard place. Please X-Factor rewrite your playbook so this type of disaster never happens again. Thanks for reading.
ReplyDeleteTEXT VOTE SUCKS! lets say
ReplyDeleteGroup 1 : 10 persons = total votes : 20
dang TEXT VOTE!
bakit isa isa nlng natatanggal ang magagaling,1st c jearrean,2nd c mark, and now ang akajam....!,,,they are both dserving to stay on the show,,,grabe lahat ng gusto ko inisaisa, especially ang akajam,,,i do blieve n cka ang dserving tlg manalo,,,,nung show ba ang xfactor,,,? so much sad s result cant move on...kakawalang gana n manood ng show,i think ung worst ang winner sa show n to....wake up guys, real talent ang piliin u...hope n my power to save ang xfactor para makabalik ang akajam tulad nlng kay jessica sanchez ng american idol...akajam,saludo ako sa inyo...ur my idol!
ReplyDeletealmost the same thought.. kala next na matatangal ung take off kasi nagbottom 2 na sya.. Pero iba nangyari? bigla silang lumakas in just a short time.. wierd diba (natakot siguro mga fans matangal). And I agree they were better than kedebon (twing nagpeperform sya at start di naman marinig ung voice nya, mahina taz nilalamon ng music.. ewan din pero ako five stars for AKAJAM, mas worth sila kesa TAKE-OFF no offense sa fans. HOPEFULLY magkaron ng projects ang AKAJAM.
ReplyDeleteHaha you are right!
DeleteNatatakot yung mga fans nila kaya din si Joan Da and Take Off were safe.
The show is still new to the country anyways. So not a lot of people are keen on voting.
next show? like what the originator said, Gary V is accountable for saying we will still see AKA JAM.. . would that be in the audience of the next xfactor show? hehehe...
Deletei was very shocked also... after reading the comments below in their last performance in youtube.... i was very very shocked.... for me.. their more than deserving than any other contestants.... actually sila yong panalo para sa akin.... first performance palng nila sa x factor ay na impress na ako... lalo na sa first and last live show nila..... ... galit ako... .. hindi rin kasi ako nakaboto dahil... NASA SAUDI ARABIA AKO,,,,,, SANA... magkaroon sila ng concert at albums.,.... god bless aka jam,,,
ReplyDeleteA.K.A JAM is way better than all the other contestants in the show .
ReplyDeleteAmerican people 'er are shocked of the results.
XFACTOR is a great show. but XFACTOR phil ? OH IT SUCKS!
i can tell jhelsea has the best vocals of alll but c'mon !e kick nga yan c charice ka inis

ReplyDeleteI don't believe na bottom 2 ang aka nor daddy's. in fact, they might even be the top 2 who earned the most text votes. Ch2 cannot rig the total figures because of the 3rd party presence but I'm sure both parties will agree to show and make the audience believe that the top 2 are on the bottom so as to massively increase the votes next week.
ReplyDeleteParehas sila magaling pero sa versatility sila nagkakaiba. Daddy's home versatile. They can turn a song into their own. Aka jam as is lang pagka kanta, walang pinagbago sa original version. Safe lahat ng song choices, d tulad ng daddy's home, willing sila mag take ng risk, mapa fast song yan or mapa pambabae pa yung kanta, kayang kaya nila, lalagyan pa nila ng flavor, gagawin nilang kakaiba. Kaya nga rendition eh. Ganyan ang tunay na singer. Look at KZ, she turned that linkin park song into her own as well.
ReplyDeleteWATCH THE 1ST LIVE PERFORMANCE AND THE 2ND ... AKA JAM DID A FAST SONG WITH CHOREOGRAPHY. THE 2ND SHOW WAS A SLOW ONE.. IT'S IN YOU TUBE. ADMIT IT DADDY'S HOME CAN'T DANCE... BOOGIE SIGURO PWEDE.. HAHAHA
Deletegrabe ang inis ko sa nangyare na yan, parehong magaling pero nasa bottom 2 , my gawd!! dapat kase di na lang sa txt dinadaan, para san pa ang mga judges kung taong bayan din naman ang huhusga!! kakainis, ang dami naman dyang iba katulad ni jeric na ilang beses ng pumiyok!! kakakasar!!! but still daddy's home and a.k.a jam are my idol!!
ReplyDeleteI was Upset at the same time guilty, it was the first week where I did not vote. And shockingly dun sila nabottom two.. sana nga maging part sila ng ASAP^_^
ReplyDeleteGary V was caught between 2 mountains. It only proved that he was a fan of BOYS to MEN, THE OLDER VERSION. VERSATILITY was not in his dictionary. I wonder if these grandfathers can also dance without panting.
ReplyDeleteYes they do pant when they dance...
Deleteobviously they are no longer young and not even talented enough to dance like the pop artists of this generation. So what's the problem if they can't do the groovin ur talkin about?
BoyzIIMen (not Boys to Men) has been in the music industry for more than 17 years with 60 million records sold,
awards from grammys, American music awards and Soul train.
If Daddy's Home is getting labeled as the older version of BoyzIIMen... oh my... they will feel VERY honored but humbly not accept that they are the BoyzIIMen of our country because they have high respect to this world class artists...
Again, Yes! They pant!
And still, its not a problem among us Daddy's Home and heartfelt and soulful music lovers :)
FINE IT IS BOYZ TO MEN.. ARE YOU SURE THEY CAN DANCE? I'VE REVIEWED ALL THE PERFORMANCES... NO DANCING FROM THE VERY START. IF YOU REALLY WANT TO SEE VERSATILITY? LET THEM GET A CHOREOGRAPHER... SORRY IF I MISPELLED THE GROUP NAME AS I AM USED TO LEGAL DOCUMENTS WHERE WE DO THE CORRECT SPELLING. WE ONLY USE OUR BRAINS TO DECIPHER THE MEANING OF MISPELLED WORDS... THE TOPIC IS NOT SPELLING BUT GRANDFATHERS VS GRANDAUGHTERS PERFORMANCE!!! CLEAR?
DeleteMy family refused to watch xfactor program now because of the result. My kids were only fond of watching KZ and AKA then swtich to another channel when they are not on. this time, they are not interested with xfactor anymore. Thanks to Gary
ReplyDeleteI did a little research on how contestants are being judged. If this information is correct, there was a contest a while back where Charice was one of the contestants and she competed with this boy actor Makisig (i dont know his real name) and guess what? Charice's talent was not recognized. Makisig won. I can't believe it. Charice had and still has the powerful voice and she lost. Therefore, it is who you know and not what you know. Clearly the singing contest turned out to be a popularity contest. This sucks!
ReplyDelete
